Painted "Contre Jour", ie into the light, to pick up the sparkle on the water. The few dinghies sitting on their moorings add some useful tonal contrast as well as providing some touches of colour. I always enjoy painting these tranquil scenes of Scilly , trying to capture the stillness and quiet of the time and place.
