Except for commissions, I hardly ever set out to paint a picture in order to sell it. I paint just because on a particular day I have come across a scene that I strongly want to paint. If I am happy with the result I frame it and put on the wall, if I am not, then I discard it. Inevitably I soon find that I have no more wall space and so I pass another batch of paintings out for sale.

However, at all times I typically have three dozen or so paintings on my wall at home ( 2 miles from junction 18 of the M25) which are available for sale. People are very welcome to come and see these by appointment at any time and many people do so. Just call me on 01494 763 553.

Galleries

Opened in 2009 is the splendid Amersham Art Gallery, www.amershamartgallery.co.uk, which displays "original, affordable, local" art and also has an onsite coffee shop with brilliant cakes! A number of my paintings have been on sale there since the day the gallery opened. The Gallery is at 67 Woodside Road, Amersham, tel 01494 431 916.

There is a well established gallery in Stoke Mandeville, "Obsidian Art", www.obsidianart.co.uk, which runs a series of themed exhibitions running for about a month each. I was invited to submit paintings for several of these exhibitions from 2004 onwards.

Solo Exhibitions & Open Studio Exhibitions

For several years now I have held three weekend "Open Studio" exhibitions, in May, July and September, at my Isles of Scilly Studio at my cottage, "Morva" on the island of St Mary's. For 2010 I plan to do this for:

May: Friday 28 to Sunday 30 July: Friday 9 to Sunday 11 September: Friday 10 to Sunday 12

At all these exhibitions I set up my equipment and paint so that my visitors can meet me and also see the "artist at work".

I also exhibit annually as part of the "Bucks Open Studios" scheme. For 2010 I have been invited, along with four other artists all working in different styles, to exhibit at a special exhibition at the Amersham Art Gallery for this period.

This exhibition will run every day from Saturday June 12 to Sunday June 27. On every day except Sundays it will be open from 10am to 5pm, and on Sundays from 12 noon until 4pm.

Art Society Exhibitions

I also exhibit regularly at the exhibitions of the Buckinghamshire Art Society, Beechwood Artists, Cookham Arts Club and at various other selling exhibitions in Buckinghamshire and neighbouring counties.

Hall Barn Autumn Fair

I have been invited to exhibit at this large annual one day Art and Craft Fair that is held at the beautiful Hall Barn Estate at Windsor End, Beaconsfield. The Fair raises money for Action Medical Research helping children suffering from disability and disease. This year the event will be held on Thursday 14th October, from 10am to 3.30pm.

Today my work is to be found in private collections across the United Kingdom as well as in Continental Europe, North America and Australia.

All of the above Exhibitions provide the opportunity to experience original paintings in their true colours and textures and true scale, properly framed and presented, and to study the paintings in detail.

Demonstrations and Talks to Art Societies

I do demonstrations of painting in acrylics to Art Societies and Art Groups across Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Berkshire
