CONTACT JOHN HEYWOOD

The list of original paintings available for sale from my studios is in constant flux, and so the only real way to check out the current situation is to contact me direct, and, ideally, arrange to visit to see the work.

If you are interested to receive more information, to contact me about the current availability of paintings, to commission a new painting or simply to suggest improvements to this website, please  call me on 01494 763 553 or e-mail me at:

PAINTING SALES

Payment

Payment is normally by sterling cheque made payable to " John Heywood".  I can also accept payment by arrangement by cheques in Euros, US$, Can$, or A$ , but these take longer for the banking system to clear.

Commissions

I also paint commissions, which, by their nature, require individual specification and discussion. I accept commissions on the basis of a non returnable initial deposit of 1/3 of the agreed price, the balance being due upon completion. The prices I quote for commissions are normally for a signed, original painting, supplied unframed.

Larger Paintings

I do not routinely paint  much larger than about 3/4 metre / 2 1/2 feet as I know many buyers find it hard to place larger work in their homes. However, I frequently do paint larger pieces ( over 1.5 metres / 5 feet) as commissions where the buyer wishes to have a painting of a certain size to suit  a particular spot.

Retrievers and  Spaniels

Having owned retrievers and spaniels  throughout my life I have a natural affinity for these traditional English working breeds. I love to paint commissions of these dogs, ideally pictured in action in a country environment. Here, I work from photographs in order to "capture the character and the moment" accurately.

Delivery

By far the majority of my paintings are bought on the spot and handed to the buyer there and then. However, sometimes, particularly with commissioned work, the painting has to be despatched to the buyer. In this case I will establish how much this will cost and agree it with the buyer.

Any balance due for the painting and for the cost of delivery is payable prior to despatch. As soon as payment is cleared to my account I despatch to the buyer and also notify them by email, requesting an email back when safe delivery has been made.

I can arrange packing  and delivery to anywhere in Western Europe, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, usually by mail or courier within the UK or by UPS or similar carrier to overseas addresses.   Some of my paintings that are painted in acrylic on canvas board or MDF board are framed unglazed. However, please note that for paintings that are in glass frames the glass will be removed prior to despatch for safety reasons (and also some carriers require this as a condition of carriage), so these paintings will arrive framed but unglazed. If import duties apply in the destination country, then these are for the account of the buyer.
