Glaros is Greek for seagull.  When painting this picture I had quite a gathering of local people beside me to follow what I was doing. I had the owner of the boat, his wife, some neighbours and passersby, several local children, a dog that had adopted me for the day....  Halfway through the morning a lady, who lived in a house just behind where I had set up my ease , came out with her two daughters to set up a table and four chairs with coffee and freshly baked cakes - such wonderful hospitality!
